Navigating to the Contacts Page
When you log into Hatch, by default you will be on a Salesboard to which you are assigned. On the left-hand side of the screen (to the right of the workspace tiles), you will see a navigation bar that allows you to go to other pages.
The Full Contacts Page
Below is the entire Contacts page. In the sections below, we will cover each area in depth.
Header Section

A: Contact Search
- Use the Search Type dropdown to select which field to search by: Full Name, First Name, Last Name, Phone, or Email. Then type your search term and press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon to find matching contacts.
- If you type a valid phone number, the search will automatically switch to the Phone search type.
- Search is disabled when an audience is selected or while in audience editing mode.

B: Audiences Drop-down
- This is a list of all audiences that exist on the workspace.
- The default is “All Contacts”.
- If an audience is selected, the contacts list will filter to contacts that currently fit that audience’s criteria.
- An audience must be selected to enable the Edit Audience or Duplicate Audience features.

C: Edit Audience shortcut
- Clicking this will open the audience editor populated with the selected audience’s criteria.

D: Total Contacts
- This is a count of all the contacts that exist in the current workspace.

E: Total in Audience
- This is a count of all the contacts that fit the criteria of the selected audience.
- If no audience is selected, this will be 0.
- This is a count of all the contacts that fit the criteria of the selected audience.

F: Selected Contacts
- This is a count of all the contacts that are currently selected (the checkbox by their name is ticked).
- The select-all checkbox only appears when an audience is selected.
Actions Sidebar
This menu is on the right side of the Contacts page. Clicking an action opens a drawer panel where the relevant form or editor will appear.
- Upload CSV
- Clicking this opens a panel where you can download a CSV template or upload an existing CSV to add contacts to Hatch manually. You can expand this panel to fullscreen for easier viewing.
- Create Audience
- Clicking this opens the audience builder where you can define audience criteria and save it with a name.
- Duplicate Audience
- Once an audience is selected, this option becomes available and lets you create a copy of the selected audience’s criteria as a new audience.
- ** Edit Audience**
- Once an audience is selected, this option becomes available and lets you modify the selected audience’s criteria.
- Launch into Campaign
- When this is clicked, you can select a campaign from that workspace and a preview of the messaging will show up.
- When contacts are selected, you can then manually launch the selected campaign for the selected contacts.
- Create a Contact
- Clicking this opens a form to input a contact’s First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, and Email Address.
- At least a phone number or email address is required.
- Clicking save will create a new contact or will add an opportunity to an existing contact if that phone number or email is already associated with a contact.
Contacts Table Section

- Tags

Tags indicate the contact’s current status in Hatch. Possible tags include:
- Opt out — The contact has opted out of both text and email in Hatch.
- Text opt-out — The contact has opted out of text messages only.
- Unsubscribed — The contact has opted out of email only.
- Campaign: [name] — The contact is currently active in the named campaign.
- If a contact has any of these tags, that contact’s row will be grayed out and the contact cannot be selected to launch into a campaign.

Tags indicate the contact’s current status in Hatch. Possible tags include:
- Rows Per Page
- This allows you to choose the number of contacts that appear per page to scroll through.
- The count next to this shows which range within the contacts the current page is on.
